Golden Palace Casino Buys First Ever TMX Elmo Doll
Golden Palace Casino has rushed to buy the first Tickle Me Elmo Extreme doll off the assembly line. The TMX Elmo is widely expected to be the hottest-selling toy this season, and the particular doll Golden Palace Casino won at auction was originally presented to the TV show ‘The View’ to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary.
Elmo muppeteer Kevin Clash and Mattel President Neil Friedman autographed the doll before handing it over to ‘The View’, who placed the doll up for auction to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The high bid of $4200 was placed by Golden Palace Casino.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of America runs programs and services
aimed at promoting and enhancing the development of boys and girls. The programs are designed to instill a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
Richard Rowe, CEO of Golden Palace Casino, was pleased the proceeds from his marketing department’s latest purchase went to another good cause: “This purchase is a wonderful opportunity to help a needy cause, and a great chance to generate some headlines and exposure. Elmo will have a wonderful home in our traveling museum of American pop-culture items.”
TMX Elmo has already created headlines due to insane demand. Newspapers reported a Florida father was robbed of his recently purchased TMX Elmo at gunpoint, with the gunman allegedly threatening to shoot if the toy wasn’t handed over. The massive Toys ‘R’ Us in NY Times Square sold out of the toy in 10 minutes after being released last Thursday.
